It actually wasn't that bad. Here are the results from the streak:
A's
L - 1-0
L - 3-0
L - 5-4 (this is the Broxton/hit-batter to win it in extras game)
Indians
L - 8-3 (Puke start)
L - 11-9 (Lost in 10th)
L - 9-3
Tigers
L - 3-2
L - 3-1
L - 4-3
Blue Jays
L - 4-3
L - 9-5
L - 5-3
So, really, aside from the Cleveland series, the starting pitching was not awful. There were a ton of anemic offensive efforts from the Royals, and they lost 3-4 games late.
It's not surprising to see how bad a lineup with Jeff Francoeur, Humberto Quintero, early-season Jarrod Dyson (who was awful), and Yuni Betancourt as regular starters was, though.
