I quoted this post to expound upon my defense of Cassel to this point. And then he fumbled...

Of course Mark sucks, but the defense, which was supposed to be top-10, has been a joke.

In short, Pioli is woeful at his job. To highlight this, Jackson has been an absolute embarrassment, and efforts to defend him will be flawed and thus abused.
