Chelsea just won the Champions League playing that very strategy. Play for a scoreless draw at home against SKC, and then travel to KC and hope to get one road goal. It's not unreasonable.
Yeah, it's weird how much better SKC is on the road. I think that MLS teams must face major pressure to score goals for their home fans, which causes them to press. Which directly conflicts with the hypothetical strategy in this posts' first paragraph, I know.
