Though this next draft seems to be deep at the QB position, there are a lot of "Not so sure" QB's. I mean last year you had Luck and RGIII.
I mean is Barkley the real deal? I know he was a highly touted recruit, but I mean how many failures have come out of that program? The only one that's been halfway worth a shit is Carson Palmer...and his NFL career has been "eh" other than a couple good seasons. Sanchez, Cassel (though he never played while at USC), Leinart and now Barkley?
Then you look at the past 6-7 seasons and look at all the talent around those QB's that have come in and played well in the NFL, and you wonder why USC really stands for Underperforming Signal Callers. Was it the talent that made the QB's?
USC has the best WR core in college football this season. All I've heard about Barkley is that he's a horrible decision maker. That's funny, because that's exactly what Sanchez, Palmer, Cassel, and Leinart are.
Same with QB's coming out of Oklahoma. I don't think Bradford will be anything special really and he's been the best one to come out of OU for quite some time. Landry Jones is an overrated piece of garbage. Geno Smith doesn't have an NFL arm. Which arm strength is overrated...but not really. Guy has no velocity. He's accurate, but I wouldn't take the guy in the 1st rd. Bray, Wilson and Murray are probably IMO the best "prospects" with the highest ceilings, but they're extremely raw.
I want the Chiefs to draft a QB high and groom him as much as the next guy. I sure as shit want Cassel replaced. (I wouldn't mind him being a backup, he's perfect for that IMO). But if you're selling the damn farm to move up for some rookie QB, considering we'll be drafting somewhere between 10-15 - you have to be damn sure you got close to a can't miss guy, like Luck or RGIII.
