I took it to be pointing out that Harvard was founded on religion. Which it was. It was created to be a school for Christian ministers. But stevieray is the master at mysterious one sentence befuddlement, so it's very likely I didn't interpret his meaning correctly.
Either way, Harvard is no longer a school for Christian ministers, and has obviously distanced itself considerably from church influence in the majority of its matters.
