Sports in LA are not attendance driven anymore. There is enough money in corporate sponsorships to keep the Kings afloat and hockey is in most places a lot more dependent on the gate receipts.
I think just being in LA is enough money. Especially in a brand new stadium.

That's not even an LA thing anymore. The NFL is a monster. Between the TV money and luxury suites... LA will have no problem supporting a team. The shmuck paying 70 bucks for an upper deck ticket doesn't matter anymore. That's why it was so funny to see the number of people who supported the owners in the lockout. They signed TV contracts worth billions... then went and got more from the players. And that doesn't even include the fact that LA will probably be able to charge more for suites than anyone. The NFL is a ticket to print money at this point.
That said, no way the Chiefs are going to LA. But at the same time nobody is avoiding LA because of fan support. There is a ton of money to be made there.
