Its VERY odd that shortly after that call, he gets a concussion on a play that he didn't seem to take that hard of a hit.
That phone call was Pioli telling Matt "I'm sorry, Matt....I held out as long as I could, but you know what I'm about to say. I'm not gonna pull you and I'm not gonna let them pull you. Except that he DID take that hard of a hit.
His head snapped back and hit the ground.
