NFL Exec contracts are far different in structure than NFL Player deals. NFL Player deals have a portion guaranteed. NFL Exec contracts, much like HC contracts, are guaranteed in full unless the boss can prove cause.
If ***** has an extension, it's not easier to fire him. It means he's here for a while longer.
