I agree it has a lot to do with longevity...
But others will do it after Witten as well.
1) Longevity (medicine / sports therapy) is improving
2) Passing is more common, and since the NFL keeps nerfing defenses I expect this trend to continue
3)the TE will only become more valuable in the passing game, as we have already seen.
So it will come down to longevity (of course) but if the other two factors (TE's being used as a weapon more, and passing being more and more common) then
Tony G wouldve never had 1000 no matter how long he played....
So where there was 0 tony G's before, there will be a witten, and sharpes/gates types who will come close and other who will break the record....MORE than just because of longevity..(but more than just the 1 Tony G)
But yes of course longevity is a factor (as everyone can easily see)
