A "ticker" is "defined" as a static message that changes at a pre-determined interval... maybe 4 seconds between message changes... hence the "ticking" of the clock until said message is changed. A "crawl" is defined as a constantly moving message. Bump used the word "scrolling" so "crawl" seemed more appropriate. 6 of 1, half dozen of the other. Lets both be right..... or we can fight about it. It's not like it would be the dumbest fight CP has ever seen lol.
