There are plenty of folks out there who believe in fiscal conservatism but find the current social policies of the GOP so offensive that they won't vote for them. For years the GOP was able to count on people becoming more conservative as they got older...this generation approaching 40 years old isn't following that old trend on the social issues.
No he isn't. He just doesn't have a printing press like other governors. How will he govern on fiscal matters with a Bernanke and the treasury printing money is what remains unseen.
