There are plenty of folks out there who believe in fiscal conservatism but find the current social policies of the GOP so offensive that they won't vote for them. For years the GOP was able to count on people becoming more conservative as they got older...this generation approaching 40 years old isn't following that old trend on the social issues.
And it won't happen either. Really we need a fiscally conservative, socially normal party. I'd be in with that. But no way in hell a republican gets my vote with what they have morphed themselves into, says the lifetime registered republican.
