Where was such talk coming from? Complete idiots? Any college football team would get blown off the team by a professional team (whether you're talking about NFL or even the CFL). If somebody fails to grasp that basic concept about any college sport, they're not somebody to be taken seriously.
In any case, the SEC remains the best college conference in the country whether Alabama lost a game in-conference or not. I don't think that's ever been in doubt. The key word there, though, is college.

I respect good football. I also find it humorous when people try to deny the facts right in front of them to support whatever bias they have (as seems to occur every year on this issue).
