I speak Spanish, so I can read Portuguese fairly well. I've studied it a bit as well. But I have quite a bit of issues with the accent, especially the Brazilian one.
It really is easy. Then again, that's because English is the a very common language. Even Greece and Egypt were easy. We have it good in this department.
