Please elaborate. Personally I don't think the ending answered a damn thing, so I'm honestly curious what you're thinking. I'm am huge fan of the Alien saga and although I do think Prometheus is worth watching......it adds very little to the Alien story per say.
As for it being a prequel, I read an interview with Ridley Scott (I'm sure you can google up tons of them) and he said in a nutshell that Prometheus did start out to be a prequel, but then at some point he decided to get away from that as he "wanted it to be able to stand on it's own".
I was under the mistaken impression that the action happens on the same planet where the original Alien took place...it doesn't. Not the same planet, not the same time, just the same universe/dimension...whatever you wanna call it.
Visually stunning....but the story itself, as Virus pointed out, has so many holes it's laughable. And certain characters behavior is truly laughable. "Aww, pretty lil fella, come here!" Sheesh.
