TCU was his worst game of the year, and those kinds of outings happen all the time. The thing about it is if WV wins that game, it doesn't look nearly as bad. You can blame Geno's choketime defense for the L, though.
In the meantime, though, the TCU game was a large collection of Geno's worst plays of the year, where he forced the ball WAY too much and made a lot of dumb decisions. That being said, he also had a handful of stupendous plays in that game (like he does every game).
It has and always will come down to this bottom line until April: Geno Smith has all the things you can't teach, including outstanding pocket awareness. That alone is why you should take him with the #1 overall pick. If he gets with a good QB coach, he can and probably will become one of the league's top QBs. That''s what I call value at the first overall pick.
