The only thing I can think of us is keeping as a #4 or #5 until one of the Tommy John guys get back or one of the kids on the farm forces their way into the lineup. And that he would be an easy out as a DFA. That is the only thing I can think of other than they are scared to death he turns out to be a stud in some organization.
