In short, Wieters is very good, while Perez looks like he's going to be the gold standard.
Unbiased view here...Wieters is the better player until Perez has a longer track record in the majors (and actually shows that his offensive production is sustainable with a walk rate that low). I'd take Wieters over every catcher in the majors that isn't named Posey or Y. Molina.
