When I shot, I had to adjust for about 6 feet of wind drift. The wind died when my dad stepped up and he just lined up the target (about 17 feet above it) and hit. Not bad for a 70 year old.
I have to admit, we had the lead sled out and shooting table. I will start to use my bipod when I get REALLY consistant.
If you ever trek through SW Kansas, let me know. It is one big shooting range out here. You could take 2 mile shots if so inclined.
