Look I'm not saying he is better but Luck had a huge hype machine and had a dad who was in the NFL.
But what about Smith makes him less coming out? Stats were just as good or better with less talent, very smart and a great leader?
You can't help but think there race has something to do with it in some way.

First: Luck ran a pro-style offense and audibled like he was manning. His last year he called his own plays a chunk of the time when they went no huddle.
Second: You really can't compare air raid qb's numbers to any other system. It tends to produce eye-popping numbers for almost any qb.. as seen at
Third: Race. Texas Tech ran white qb's out there year after year in the same system putting up insane numbers and none of them were ever considered top prospects.
