Thanks for posting all this stuff. I wish I were closer to Newtown so I could be there. It would be a worthy endeavor.

'Stand The Wall' operation shields Sandy Hook funerals from WBO
By Greta McClain

Newtown - Two days after Anonymous revealed Westboro Baptist Church's (WBO) plan to protest the funerals of the Sandy Hook school shooting victims, members of the law enforcement and firefighting community decided to step in. Digital Journal reported on Monday that Anonymous planned to target WBO after the church Tweeted plans to protest Sandy Hook funerals. News of WBO's plans quickly spread, thanks in part to the attention given by Anonymous. After hearing of WBO's plans, a group called The Bravest sent out a plea for firefighters and police officers to attend any scheduled Sandy Hook school shooting funeral. An announcement on the groups website said:

"FIREFIGHTERS and POLICE OFFICERS needed in Newtown CT
Newtown CT is asking for our help. We are trying to assemble teams of 15 to stand in a wall blocking the Westboro Baptist Church protesters from the families during the funerals of the victims of the shootings. If you are able to put together teams of 15 and can get to Newtown CT please let us know. If you would like to go single, or with a few, also let us know, and we will try to put teams together."

The operation, dubbed "Stand The Wall", saw several agencies from around the New England area put together teams and attend funerals on Wednesday. The officers and firefighters provided a human shield between grieving friends and family and members and WBO protesters.
