I come from a huge family & have seen both male & female side.
The shock at first was devastating for the father to come to grips with. I found it shocking that he was so surprised. It was obvious to the rest of our family that one of his three sons was gay. He had to be living in denial for years & years.
The other was my Uncles daughter. She is gay & we always knew from an early age. She didnt want barbie dolls. She wanted footballs & Tonka trucks ect.
IMO & from what I have seen. It is much easier for a family to deal with a lesbian daughter than it is to deal with the fact that you have a gay son.
Not sure why.
I do know. I would never wish that kind of pain on any family.
