Stefan Molyneux - Gun Culture
For those of you who don't know Stefan Molyneux, he is a Canadian-Libertarian philosopher. I won't try to sum him up in 1 paragraph, as I've been watching his videos off and on for about a year now and I only kind of have a grasp of what he's actually about.
This video is long, but if you have a half hour to kill tonight I would suggest watching it. He brings up a lot of pro-gun points that we've heard, but his anti-"State" philosophy adds a new twist in the "moral argument" portion of the video. The sections on mental illness and the sociopath percentages were interesting as well.
His thoughts on sociopaths are that there are roughly 4% of the population who who operate without morals or a conscience, they are essentially predators. Would you go on an African safari without a gun? No, so why should we not be armed when other humans will do us harm?
I know it's long, but I like listening to him so I thought it was very interesting and full of good points all the way through from beginning to end. If nothing else, you may at least find his thoughts interesting and watch some of his other videos.
Or just immediately write him off as a kook, your choice, get a clue, suck it if q.
