The Border War never died or lost its luster when Norm was on the Mizzou bench.
Obviously, you don't remember getting free tickets from clients to the Border War at the end of Ted Owens and seeing Allen Fieldhouse 1/4 empty for the Mizzou game. But I do. I was there. Agree to disagree.
KU did win it all in 1988 but only after one outstanding second half. By the next year, they were on probation, with a new coach, non-compettiive in League play (they finished 7th in the Big 8) and MU-OU fought for the title. That was 1989 remember. KU started the decade poorly and ended it poorly. Mizzou was good every year. Look it up if you don't believe me.
