Agreed. Getting him away from his group would have been key. I don't know who started the fire, but in the end that situation lays on the hands of the person that was holding children hostage and reneged when they gave him what he wanted but kept his stand going.
Read up on this recently because people keep wanting to bring it up in conspiracy. I never knew about the former leader's son challenging Koresh to a resurrection contest and later killing someone with an axe. Issues man, issues.
