If anyone was being selfish it was Shanny who should have stepped in and pulled him not just to have a healthier QB out there to have a better chance to win BUT to protect the franchise. But he couldn't resist and let him stay in thus exposing Shanny's real feelings that in his mind a 65-75% functioning RGIII is better than a 100% Cousins even though Cousins had played well when called upon which makes Shanny look even worse and to be 2nd guessed.

Understand this kid was raised in a military family with much discipline, competitive as hell and knows he is the leader who must lead and those 3 elements automatically kicked in for him. I don't blame him one iota for this. I believe Shanny did recognize that he was injured but winning was all that mattered and rather than step in and pull him to protect not only him but the franchise, Shanny took advantage of the rookie QB's naivete' about playing injured as opposed to playing hurt. He got greedy and hoped RGIII could pull it off like he had done all year. I guarantee you this will be one of those NFL Films documented moments down the road about Shannahan's career and he will end up confessing that he should have pulled him.
