I have three LED TV's that can connect to anything on the internet as well as two Blu Ray DVD players that connect to the internet on my non-internet TV's.
I'd recommend a Sony Blu Ray before a Roku or any other box. At least you'll have a Blu Ray players.
Oh, and I disagree with your assumption. I'll never get rid of Direct TV and all of its channels. AT&T, Time Warner, Cox and the internet aren't even a close second.
