That happened in 2011. If Del Rio and Gene Smith weren't trying to save their jobs, there's no way Blaine Gabbert goes at #10. Same goes for the Titans and Jake Locker. Locker has struggled with accuracy issues his entire career, yet he was a high first rounder. What's happened? He's struggled with accuracy issues in the NFL.
Jimmy Johnson called Christian Ponder the NFL's worst QB this past season. Where do you think that team would be if A.P. was replaced by a Vick Ballard? 1-15? 2-14?
Teams will inevitably reach for a few years because of the new CBA but once they realize they ARE reaching and that these guys aren't worth their draft position, we'll see things get back to "normal", i.e., pre-2010.
