Yes, of course the ratings came from the NRA, who the hell else do you expect to produce the NRA's grades?!?
If someone in the Senate had voted the way that Harry Reid voted, they would have also gotten a B-rating. They didn't decide not to oppose Reid then made up the grade after the fact.
Again, if you are a B-rated incumbent or better, you will not be opposed, regardless of party. This fact does not seem to fit in with your pre-conceived view of the NRA as an arm of the GOP, even as almost a dozen Democrat Senators tout their support from the NRA in political campaigns.
I never said the NRA was an arm of the GOP (although, they are, as a general rule). I pointed out that the NRA spends a ton of money in Republican primaries
on a single issue, which can result in an extremely right-wing Republican who loses in the general election vs. a more moderate Republican who can win in the general election.
And your referenced grades, because they come from the NRA, is almost like a tautology: "They give to everyone who they like (and thus, grade high)!" Well, that's really objective, huh?
