I don't think that using mental disorders as a restrictive force on gun ownership is really expanding a role of mental health professionals. There are pretty serious consequences for purposely misdiagnosing people so if people use their influence on others to take away their gun rights without proper evidence they are taking a big risk. As with most everything the people that would misuse it for their personal agenda is way too small to do away entirely with the idea of having some mental disorders be something that restricts a person's gun rights.
Were it not for that last provision, the one that I quoted which you completely ignored, I wouldn't have a problem with it. You don't have to be crazy to get pissed off at somebody.
