I've been laid off 4 times in the past 5 years due to lack of work. I had to collect some unemployment for awhile, but never gave up and never stopped looking for a job, even if it meant taking up to a $5 an hour pay cut. I may not have been happy about it but, I sucked it up and did what I had to do to keep a roof over my head and food on my table.
I'm not saying that everyone on welfare wants to be there but, like I said, the number of those who look at welfare as a career is growing at an alarming rate. That's the problem
There are limits on how long you can be on welfare..you do know that right ? So how can someone make a career out of three years ? Also, what you said about "ticks" is bullshit. I suggest before you go around assuming that most of these people chose welfare as a career you get your facts straight. Congrats for doing what you had to do to keep afloat. You should be proud of that. Unfortunately that is not the case for a lot of people. Instead of putting people down, do a little research and find stuff out for yourself.
