I had a conversation with a local government regarding the topic of weapons on property owned or controlled by that entity. One of the board members informed me that I could throw my soda at someone who came into that room with a weapon.

In the opinion of that person, the only people who should have weapons were proven combat veterans who proved they could control their weapon under fire.

I then asked 2 police officers and a retired DNR agent if they had ever fired their weapon in anger. I followed that up asking them if they felt qualified to have them.

Yes....a soda bottle will protect me from an armed mad man.
