Kobe had no choice but to take a lesser role during that first run. Shaq was the man. Kobe was what 20 years old when the run started and he was still averaging about 25 points per game with Shaq. Shaq doesnt win 3 and go to 4 straight without Kobe and kobe without shaq, ooh well he did 2 of 3.
Kobe did Carry the Lakers through some crucial games in the early 2000's when shaq would foul out.
That 6/24 was just a bad shooting night but he played great that game defensively on Rondo and had what 14 rebounds. he didnt have a bad game, just shot bad. There is more to basketball then just your shooting percentage on a given night.
