I woudln't want to go to the ACC as the 17th team because Duke-UNC and now Syracuse, Pitt and Louisville are all there. I suppose our football team would immediately improve getting away from the Southern schools in the Big 12 but it doesn't seem to have much appeal losing games in basketball and having a huge conference where you play others so infrequently.

Big XII was on shaky ground at best when MU jumped ship. It was absolutely the right decision at the time providing long term stability and viability for the school. Even now in spite of what looks to be a bright future at the moment for the league it's still at the mercy of the whims of OU and Texas. We don't have to worry about that any longer. As it stands I'm not sure how tangibly different it is for me anyway. MU hadn't won the conference in my lifetime in the Big XII so this will be no different except the bowl tie-ins will be better. The road trips rule too. Went to Knoxville this yr and it was righteous. Planning on Oxford next fall!
