If you can't take your job seriously enough to apply rules consistently instead of just reacting to squeaky wheels without even a cursory investigation to determine whether a rule has been broken, or alternatively, if you're not smart enough to figure it out, you aren't qualified to do it. Volunteer or not, you're not earning your pay.
