I think Abdullah can probably still offer quite a bit. I was sort of hoping that the Vikings would bring him in myself. . .they offered him a contract extension after the 2011 season, but he elected to go on the pilgrimage with his brother instead.

Abdllah is more of an “in the box” type of safety than a ballhawk type. He’s a pretty solid tackler, and is able and willing to come up in run support. Pairing him up with someone like Eric Berry could potentially be a pretty good move for the Chiefs if, as you said, he hasn’t lost too much after being out of the NFL for a year.
