You have a good point that can't be denied. I guess it comes down to preferences. I think there should be food stamps to poor people so they can feed themselves and their kids.* On the other hand, I'm in favor closing loopholes for millionaire investors so we can pay for the food stamps (among other things).
* I am a fierce advocate of food stamp reform, however.
