please don't be dumb. I'll bring everything into context for you. Matt cassel had two insanely crappy years the past two years. Alex smith on the other hand had some tough years becasue his team was horrible so no one knew what he actually could do given a good situation. He finally got some talent and he blossomed and since for the past couple of years been playing like a top 5 qb statistically. He's also shown grit and the ability to play clutch in the 4th quarter. Matt cassel hasn't proved squat! He had a okay year with pats, good year with chiefs and then started sputtering to be one of the worst qbs in the league. Timing is everything. Alex could have even worse career stats but if he had a 150 rating past 2 years I would believe that his most recent play is a better barometer for the level he is at. Fact is, Alex has ascended to become a good, dependable, winning qb and cassel for past 2 years has descended to being one of the worst qbs in the league.
