From a purely arm talent perspective they're practically identical, neither seems to trust their arm when attempting anything past twenty yards... they dont throw past that distance, they
push it that distance... and they have both shown themselves to prefer checkdowns and shorter, safer throws and their velocity and long range accuracy are nearly identical as far as i can see.
Where Alex stands apart is his decision making, and that pretty much encompasses all aspects of play... timing, ability to buy time in the pocket, anticipation of guys coming open, avoiding obvious pick situations etc... thats why he was able to to 18-19 in his last niners game and why that team was in most games.
He is also a
bit more mobile... but in the area of "what throws can this guy consistently execute"... he really isnt any better than cassel, in my honest opinion.
