Dolphins ran a lot of Cover 1 with a Robber over top. They like their SS Reshad Jones a lot and gave him the ability to rome around, he had a very similar year to the Falcons SS, very solid.
Sean Smith is a solid player against tall, slow receivers that he can get his hands on and doesn't need fluid hips to defend. He struggles against any player that can burn right by him and good route running.
He is putrid in zone and he is better in man, but he's not great in it. The Dolphins didn't run THAT much zone as their base defense was cover 1, but they did like to run it whenever they blitzed.
