I never said that Smith wouldn't be a Top Ten pick. And I did watch him play live against K-State and the Pinstripe Bowl and was very unimpressed. In early February (when I couldn't sleep), I watched YouTube footage and watched him at the Combine.
I said it then and I'll say it now: There's either something not being shared with the public or Clark Hunt had a mandate when he hired Dorsey and Hunt because I didn't see anything *major* to dislike. He was inconsistent at times but I didn't get all the "hate" and disrespect from the media. If Dorsey and Reid had decided to select Smith, I'd have been on board.
That said, he's not going to be a Chief, so that's that. And since I was never emotionally invested in him, it's much easier for me to deal with it.
