The funny part is, we're talking about trading Branden Albert and drafting a guy with the #1 pick whose upside might be Branden Albert, if we're lucky, just to save a few million dollars a year. I mean, I might get the argument if we're replacing Albert with Orlando Ogden Roaf the third, but Joeckel ain't nothing special. There's four of five of him in the first round every year, and probably a few in the second from time-to-time.
The logic behind this (for the "fans") is just so bizarre. It's apparently okay to draft a "guy" at tackle at 1:1, but a quarterback has to be the love child of Bart Unitas and Otto Montana to justify the selection. I mean, shit, you read what some folks say on here, and they're like gleeful that the team doesn't appear to like Geno Smith.
