If you have an above average LT, then ****ing pay the man. Overpay him if you have to. It's just stupid to mortgage the future of the offensive line over the chance of saving a few million bucks. It's OK to pay your priority positions. There's lots of positions where you can fill at discount prices. But at LT, it's not worth the risk. Gambling that some unknown you draft will be sufficient is a huge risk. And at 1.1, it's just not worth it.

You gotta remember the mindset here. People want to draft offensive linemen every year. This all fits the conservative midwestern ethos, draft a "safe" player (whatever the **** that is) and get a bargain wherever you can (a rookie's cheaper than a vet).
