I think it's fine to invite a guy like that up on stage and honor him for the huge sacrifice he's given, I just didn't care for it in the context of a war protest, even if it wasn't overly zealous. I can take one or the other (an artist expressing his own opinion that differs from mine or an artist who tries to raise awareness to the hardships some around us face), but both together struck me wrong.
I'm glad you enjoyed one of your favorite bands though. I've never really been into Pearl Jam so my expectations for the show were low, but I liked the music quite a bit.
