The Chiefs eventually made the trade with the 49ers to acquire Smith. Their new era at quarterback starts in earnest on Monday, when their offseason program begins. The Chiefs won’t get on the field for full-team practice for another couple of weeks, but Smith can throw to receivers and begin to learn Reid’s offensive system.
This is from the Teicher article. By any chance, is this why Geno is being brought in tomorrow and Tuesday? Can Geno throw to receivers tomorrow as well?
If so, that is pretty smart IMO. Let Geno throw to Bowe, Avery, McCluster, Gilyard, Fasano, Brock, Charles, and whoever else might be there, right along with Alex Smith and Chase Daniel.
Then they should know if Geno is really in the picture for the #1 pick or not.
