It's that, unlike what's been suggested around here for months on end, they are actively looking to draft and develop a QB and
Alex Smith is definitely not their long term solution.
I keep reading all this "Gloom and Doom" about how Alex Smith is going to be the starter for "Five years!" and blah, blah, blah. I've never believed it for a second.
Whether they take Geno or not, they're not handing Alex Smith the keys to the car for five years. They're planning to draft and develop a QB, whether it's round one or round two or round three.
