That's literally all this comes down to. This is Clark saving a few bucks by not paying a veteran. That's all it is no matter how much rationalizing people want to do. We have the number one pick in the draft and instead of using it to acquire a playmaker at literally any impact position you can think of, we use it as a lever against a veteran lineman's contract.
