If they dumped their incumbent quarterback to draft Geno Smith and start him day 1, then yes, my expectation would be that he should be a top-5 QB within 3-5 years. If they dumped Hali or Houston for Jordan, then yes, I would expect him to be pushing the league leaders in sacks in 3-5 years.

Are they doing any of those things? No.

What they are doing is (apparently) dumping Branden Albert and handing this guy, whoever it ends up being, an uncontested starting job protecting the blind side of their stud quarterback acquisition. That tells me they must really think a lot of him. So why limit the expectations?
