Pass protection is a priority for tackles.
There's numerous problems I have with counting sacks as the end all stat for LT's. Granted, they matter, but so do hurries, if the QB holds the ball too long, the talent level of the LG next to you.
Hurries to me is almost equal to a sack. If the defender causes the QB to make a rushed decision that results in an interception, incompletion on 3rd down, it's just as bad as a sack.
I figure that because you're putting one facet of the players responsibility and making it the benchmark. There's a lot more to playing tackle in the NFL than just allowing sacks.
