Miami didn't want to pay Jake Long the big money for a reason. Same theory is appyling to Brandon Albert. The thinking is that Joeckel can be had at #1, step in and be a cheap and sturdy LT under the new rookie agreement for a few years.
Albert's proposed compensation with Miami is pure flub and fat. It's skewed significantly and he'll never reap his riches. He's best off to play under the tag and go to market next year.
One other note: Reid LOVES Matt Scott from the University of Arizona. Breaks my heart as a die hard Sun Devil. He's on their radar as a plan b option for QB once the field starts evaporating.
Its possible the Chiefs could do a double-back in the draft if they trade out of #1 and slide back at least one more time to stock pile picks. Some teams in the 20s are talking around about moving up for a few guys. With the rookie cap and wage lock in place, it's easier for teams to trade up (within reason) to get the guy they want at a decent price the club can live with.

Any legitimate interest in Geno?
